Overview
Marinestar GNSS positioning services are available worldwide and have been tailored specifically for the wind farm and oceanographic research, navy and hydrographic and dredging and marine construction sectors.
Marinestar offers market-leading, high quality and innovative positioning services backed by more than 30 years of technology and satellite-based positioning systems experience and continuous research and development done by FUGRO.
Reception is via an existing Inmarsat system, or a small dedicated omni-directional antenna. This correction does not affect equipment approvals as it has no impact on use for normal two-way communications.
The Marinestar GNSS services can be broadcasted to all Marinestar capable receivers and are delivered over dual independent delivery paths. FUGRO offers internet delivery of correction data using the Ntrip protocol (networked transport of RTCM over internet protocol) to complement the standard satellite broadcast delivery channels.
By using dual frequencies and up to 4 satellite constellations, services with sub-decimeter accuracy can be delivered. As FUGRO uses a wide range of satellites, these provide more resistance to ionosphere scintillations effects that occur in specific parts of the sky.
