Overview
MRO Hangar from GPS Source is a GPS repeater kit for aircraft hangars. It marks the integration of the latest GPS smart amplifier technology into one solution. It is a smart system, offering signal conditioning, BIT detection, antenna monitoring and exact ERP control. Derived from high-performance systems for military applications, the MRO-Hangar system is safe and easy to use.
Testing of avionics navigation equipment requires a GPS signal, which is not often available inside a hangar. MRO Hangar conveys a live GPS signal inside an aircraft hangar for general testing, maintenance and repair of onboard Flight Management System (FMS) or GPS flight navigation systems.
The base kit includes: signal controller, passive antenna, active antenna, mounting equipment, lightning protection and RF coax cabling. Other cable configurations are available.
The centerpiece of the MRO Hangar solution is the GPS signal controller (GLI-METRO). It receives the GPS signal, conditions the signal and then gives the user the ability to precisely control the output level of the signal.
When used in conjunction with active and passive GPS antenna(s), GLI-METRO will pass GPS signals inside a building, hangar or any structure where signal is not accessible. A maintenance technician can easily control the signal output level.
GLI-METRO employs an automatic control to maintain the set output signal level, regardless of the uncertain loss or gain in the receive antenna cable network.
The GLI-METRO will identify and isolate the following:
- Oscillation condition
- Internal component failure
- High gain
- Less than four satellites
- Low gain
- No satellites with adequate signal
- Short/Open circuit

Warranty
GPS Source products are covered under their free standard warranty policy. GPS Source, Inc. will repair, replace or refund any unit that fails within 1 year from the date of purchase. It is also possible to purchase a an additional one or two years extended warranty for all products manufactured by GPS Source.
