Overview
GPS Source’s RMS116 is a rack-mount GPS splitter with 1 input and 16 outputs. Typically, it is used to receive input from a roof-mounted GPS antenna or GPS simulator and split it 16 ways for GPS receivers or timing boards. In effect, this creates a GPS signal distribution network indoors.
Generally the unit is delivered with a 110VAC input. A 230 VAC input is also available. A regulated direct current output voltage is provided to the antenna’s input port. This is used to drive an active GPS antenna located on that port.
Such rack mounts are used particularly by test, timing, and cellular labs employing GPS.
The RMS116 can be configured to specific customer requirements, because it has the most options of comparable products on the market for connector, gain, and power types. A beacon option enables the product to transmit a beacon frequency at the same time it splits or amplifies the GPS signal.
